Mumbai SRA Rehabilitation Project Brings New Hope to 400 Families
The allotment of homes to eligible residents was completed through an online lottery held on September 7, 2026. Based on the lottery results, flats were allotted to the eligible beneficiaries. The distribution of keys marks an important step towards completing the rehabilitation process and providing residents with actual possession of their homes.
For many families living in slum areas, owning a permanent and secure home has been a long-awaited dream. Receiving the keys before Diwali has made the occasion even more special, allowing residents to begin a new chapter of their lives in a safe and permanent home.
During the programme, the dignitaries expressed satisfaction with the construction and quality of the rehabilitation building. They appreciated the work carried out through SRA and highlighted the importance of providing eligible residents with proper housing facilities.
SRA Focuses on Providing Permanent Homes to Slum Residents
The Slum Rehabilitation Authority is working towards its objective of providing safe, well-equipped and dignified homes to eligible slum residents across Mumbai. The authority is focusing not only on the construction of rehabilitation buildings but also on ensuring that beneficiaries receive possession of their allotted homes without unnecessary delays. The handover of keys to around 400 residents of Siddheshwar B.S.R.A. Cooperative Housing Society is another important milestone in this direction.
With the keys to their new homes in hand, residents are now preparing to celebrate Diwali in their own houses. For these 400 families, this year’s festival will bring more than lights and celebrations; it will mark the beginning of a new life with the security and dignity of a permanent home.
