RSPL Group CSR Initiatives in Gujarat: RSPL Group’s Soda Ash business has been advancing community development initiatives across coastal Gujarat since 2015, focusing on education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, digital literacy and environmental conservation. Through the RSPL Welfare Foundation, the company has adopted a participatory approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR), aiming to strengthen local livelihoods, improve access to essential services and create sustainable opportunities for communities in the region.

The initiatives complement the development priorities of the Government of Gujarat and the Government of India, while aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and national programmes such as Digital India, Skill India and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Group’s efforts also contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

RSPL Group’s Education Initiatives Reach 25,000 Students

Education and employability are central to RSPL Group’s CSR strategy in Gujarat. The company’s education initiatives have positively impacted more than 25,000 students across 35 government schools in 12 villages. The interventions include improvements to school infrastructure, child-friendly classrooms, access to clean drinking water, sanitation facilities and the distribution of notebooks, school bags and essential learning materials.

Through its ‘Prerna’ initiative, RSPL recognises students who secure first, second and third positions in school examinations. The programme seeks to encourage academic excellence, promote regular school attendance, support girls’ education and reduce school dropout rates.

The Group also supports the Laxmi Devi Dayal Das Academy (LDA), an English-medium school up to Class 10 operated by the RSPL Welfare Foundation. The school provides children from surrounding communities with access to education, sports and extracurricular activities designed to develop teamwork, management skills and overall personal growth.

RSPL Group CSR Initiatives in Gujarat: Women’s Empowerment Through Digital Skills

RSPL Welfare Foundation is also working to improve digital literacy and employability among women and girls. Its certificate-based computer training programmes aim to equip participants with practical digital skills that can support their journey towards greater economic independence. More than 70 girls and women have participated in these training programmes, gaining skills intended to improve their employment prospects and self-reliance.

The Foundation also supports emerging sporting talent by assisting athletes with training, nutrition and travel expenses. Hetal Ben, a national-level volleyball player, is among the beneficiaries of this initiative.

Healthcare Support Reaches Thousands of Residents

Access to healthcare is another key component of RSPL Group’s community development programme. The company’s 24×7 Occupational Health Centre (OHC) provides free primary healthcare to residents of villages surrounding its Kuranga Soda Ash plant.

During FY 2025–26, the centre benefited more than 6,750 patients. In addition, the company has organised free health check-up camps across 12 villages in collaboration with Madhav Hospital. These camps have reached approximately 7,000 beneficiaries since 2022.

RSPL has also contributed to healthcare infrastructure by supporting the installation of a 9-kilolitre oxygen tank, donating a mini ambulance and providing an ICU on Wheels. In recognition of its healthcare initiatives, RSPL Limited received a Certificate of Appreciation at the Gujarat First Health Conclave 2026.

Community Infrastructure and Rural Development

The RSPL Welfare Foundation has supported the development of community infrastructure in villages within the company’s project area. Community halls constructed in Gojines and Batdiya villages have become venues for social, cultural and community activities.

These facilities provide residents with spaces to organise gatherings and local events, while also serving people from neighbouring villages. The initiative reflects the Foundation’s focus on creating shared community assets that support social participation and local development.

RSPL Group CSR Initiatives in Gujarat: Mangrove Plantation and Water Conservation

Environmental sustainability is another important pillar of RSPL Group’s CSR initiatives in Gujarat. In partnership with local communities and the Gujarat Ecology Commission, the company supported mangrove plantation across 50 hectares in the Hasot block of Bharuch district, contributing to coastal ecosystem conservation.

Under the Mission Amrit Sarovar initiative, RSPL has also supported the rejuvenation and beautification of ponds in Kuranga, Gokalpar, Bamnasa, Navadra and Bhatiya. The work includes cleaning, land levelling, solar lighting, seating arrangements and improved pathways. The company has additionally supported the construction of public and household toilets to strengthen sanitation, hygiene and environmental well-being in surrounding communities.

Beyond its CSR programmes, RSPL Group’s industrial operations contribute to regional economic activity by supporting employment and strengthening local supply chains. The company’s community investments in education, healthcare, skills development and infrastructure are intended to complement this economic contribution and create a stronger foundation for long-term development.

Commenting on the company’s approach, Tinku Chhabra, CEO, RSPL – Soda Ash Business, said that sustainable industrial growth must go hand in hand with community development. He emphasised that the organisation’s CSR initiatives are designed to address the aspirations of local communities while complementing government development priorities. He added that RSPL remains committed to investing in education, digital literacy, skills, healthcare and community infrastructure as India progresses towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Since 2015, RSPL Group’s community initiatives in coastal Gujarat have focused on combining corporate investment with local participation and development priorities. Through its continued work across education, healthcare, women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability, the company aims to support resilient communities and contribute to the region’s long-term socio-economic progress.
