During the visit, students showcased their creativity and technical skills by demonstrating applications they had developed. Minister Aditi Tatkare interacted with students Ansh, Neel and Aarush, asking them about the ideas behind their applications and the process of developing them. She also spoke with Akshara about her project and took an interest in the students’ learning experiences. The visit highlighted how digital education and hands-on learning can help children develop practical skills, creativity and confidence.
Foundation Presents Its Three Key Education Programmes
Siddhi Jaiswal, Founder of Sneh Asha Foundation, and Madhumita Prasad, Head of CSR and Planning, briefed the minister on the organisation’s vision, mission and three key programmes: Digital Literacy, Educational Scholarship and Jeevan Kaushalya. The Foundation’s Digital Literacy Programme follows the principle of one computer per child. Under this model, students attend two one-hour computer sessions every week, ensuring regular access to digital learning and practical computer skills. The programme currently reaches students across 15 schools, including 14 schools in Mumbai and one school under the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
Jeevan Kaushalya Focuses on Life Skills and Career Readiness
The minister was also introduced to the Foundation’s Jeevan Kaushalya initiative, launched in Palghar. The programme aims to equip students with essential life skills, financial literacy, functional English and career readiness, helping them prepare for future opportunities. The Educational Scholarship Programme was also discussed, along with the achievements of students supported by the Foundation. One of the examples highlighted was Siddhi Dalvi, a visually impaired swimmer who is preparing for a National Swimming Championship.
Future Plans for ECCE Across Maharashtra
The discussions also covered the Foundation’s future plans for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). The organisation aims to expand its initiatives across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Palghar, Gadchiroli and Nandurbar, extending educational support and learning opportunities to more children.
Sharing her feedback after the visit, Aditi Tatkare said she was extremely glad to visit the computer lab established by Sneh Asha Foundation. She appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and wished them the very best. The visit provided an opportunity for the minister to understand the Foundation’s work at the ground level, interact directly with students and learn about its efforts to promote digital literacy, education and skill development among children.
