Mumbai local train services were disrupted on Monday, October 26, 2026, following signal failures at two locations on the Central Railway network. According to information from the Central Railway Control Room, technical issues were reported between Thane and Mulund stations and between Kanjurmarg and Bhandup stations at around 10:55 am. As a result, local trains are running at reduced speeds, potentially causing delays for commuters travelling along these routes.

Mumbai Local Train: Signal Failures Affect Two Key Railway Sections

The signal failures have been reported at two separate locations: between Thane and Mulund, and between Kanjurmarg and Bhandup. The technical problems have affected train movements on both directions of the railway network, impacting Fast and Slow local services. With signalling systems playing a crucial role in the safe and smooth movement of trains, the failures have required services to operate at reduced speeds. Commuters travelling through these sections may experience longer journey times and delays while railway personnel work to restore normal operations.

Repair Work Underway to Restore Normal Services

Mumbai Local Train: According to the Central Railway Control Room, repair work is currently in progress to address the signal failures. Train services are continuing at a slow speed while the technical issues are being attended to. Passengers travelling between Thane, Mulund, Bhandup and Kanjurmarg are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and check official Central Railway updates for the latest information on service conditions. Normal train operations are expected to depend on the successful resolution of the technical faults. Further updates may be issued by the railway authorities as repair work progresses.
